They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck…it washes away sorrow, replenishes the spirit, and allows you to start life together fresh and new. They also say that snow makes for a peaceful and warm marriage. If “they” are right, Aimee and Krista certainly have a lot to look forward to!
Aimee and Krista met at a dance party, were engaged during the holidays, and set a May wedding date.
It was a destination wedding, set in the beautiful ski resort town of Angel Fire, NM. They dreamed of an outdoor ceremony with the mountains as their backdrop, and a cozy lodge reception.
But Saturday, May 16th brought rain, snow and unseasonably chilly temperatures. Aimee and Krista carefully monitored the weather all morning, and ultimately made the decision to move inside. Their concern was with the comfort of their guests…they didn’t want their friends and family to freeze.
Moving the wedding inside meant the ceremony would take place in the same room as the reception. It was a grand room, with a wall of windows showcasing the surrounding mountains.
When asked to reflect on the day, Aimee and Krista said they would most remember having their friends and family together, and how the sun came through the clouds as they recited their vows.
Aimee and Krista focused on what was most important and embraced their day…if their wedding story is any indication, they will weather this thing called marriage with patience, love and grace!
Congratulations Aimee and Krista! It really was a perfect day!
